Bolts Run at Section 6A Cross Country Meet

The Ashby-Brandon-Evansville Bolts ran at the Section 6A cross country meet at the Whitetail Run Golf Course in Wadena on Thursday. It was a cool and raining evening, but the Bolts were mentally prepared and had a good night. 

 

 

 
On the girls team, Courtney Paulson led the way with a strong run and a great kick in the last 800. Lexi Bitzan was following right behind, tracking Courtney down the backstretch. They both had strong races.
 
Lauren Thoennes  had some leg pain and started limping after the first mile. She pushed through and still ran a solid race. Hope Rovang and Rita Fosell also ran well and both had great kicks at the end.
 
For the boys, Benjamin Myron led the way and ran a great race with a huge kick at the end of the race to set a new school record at 18:00.0. 
 
August Bredberg and Kenneth Spielman also had strong races and finished strong. Like they have all season, these three guys have battled and worked together. They pushed themselves and ran well.
 
Ben Bui had a goal of setting another PR and he delivered a strong race to do just that. He started out fast and continued it through most of the race. 
 
Dylan Johnson and Cole Johnson each have their own style, but they raced each other at the end. It was an entertaining finish to watch them battle it out. 
 
Donell Lee struggled tonight with some pain and since it was his last race as a senior, he was looking to enjoy the race, which he seemed to do.
