Wheaton/Herman-Norcross swept past the Ashby Arrows in a Little Eight Conference volleyball match on Tuesday in Ashby, winning 25-18, 25-8, 25-15.

The Warriors were led by Emily Drewicke (21/21 serving), Jordyn Perry (13/13 serving, 1 ace, 13 set assists, 4 digs), Megyn Kelly (12/13 serving, 1 ace, 5 kills, 7 digs), Zaundra Determan (8 kills, 1 solo block, 5 block assists), Brylie Schultz (6/8 serving, 3 aces, 5 kills, 3 solo blocks, 7 block assists, 7 digs), Ashlyn McCalip (11 set assists, 10 digs, 8/9 serving), Anna Bright (8 digs), Reagan Spilde (7 digs, 6 kills) and Bria Lundquist (8 kills).

Ashby was led by Ryleigh Brendmoen (10 digs, 6 kills, 1 assist, 5/7 serving, 1 ace), Livy Johnson (2 digs, 1 kill, 7/7 serving), Haleigh Brendmoen (2 digs, 4/4 serving, 10 assists), Lucy Ohren (12 digs, 7/7 serving, 1 ace), BrookeLinn Finkelson (2 digs, 5 kills, 1 block, 2/3 serving) and Alyssa Johnson (5 digs).

“Tonight we played hard,” said Ashby Head Coach Hayley Stevens. “Our movement was better and the girls play cohesively. We struggled with key serves and lost the ball when we most needed it and WHN capitalized on that. We repeatedly put the ball too close to the net where they were able to use it to their advantage with height that we were unmatched with and that made it harder to pick up balls. Volleyball is such a mental game and that is something that we continue to focus on along with skills each day at practice and we see it coming together here and there.”

Thursday the Arrows head to Swanville.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will host Battle Lake on Thursday night.
