Underwood finished first at the Quad County Boys’ Golf Meet hosted by Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Thursday at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls. The Rockets score of 361 was three better than Border West (364) and eight in front of Ortonville (369). Ottertail Central was fourth with a 396 total, followed by Hillcrest 399 and Pillager 401.
Trevor Swonger of the Rockets was the individual medalist with a 77.
“I’m happy for our guys who haven’t won a team event in a long time,” commented Underwood Head Coach Chuck Ross. “This team has a lot of potential and is getting better with every meet. Trevor has won his fourth meet in a row and has been solid all year long.”
Owen Longnecker of Ortonville was runner-up with an 82 and Nathan Hillman of OTC was third with an 86. Nolan Wilson of Border West was fourth with an 87. Jaxon Swonger of Underwood and Cole Gilsdorf of Border West rounded out the top six with rounds of 87.
“Jaxon shot his first sub 90 score in his career,” noted Ross. “I’m really happy for him and the way he played today.”
